Content Plan:
A practical educational program focused on implementing elements of parkour into physical education in a safe, fun, and effective way so that children can understand each movement and continue to use it outside of PE classes. Parkour is no longer street vandalism, as it was long labeled. It is an ideal path for all-round physical development, where children will work with their bodies, learn to combine motor skills with the intention to achieve some movement skill, and then develop it to perfection. They will also discover that thanks to parkour techniques, they are more capable of easily helping others in distressing situations that a regular citizen cannot easily reach.
During the course, applicants will theoretically familiarize themselves with the significance and benefits of incorporating parkour into the educational process. They will understand the fundamental impact of parkour techniques on the development of motor skills and the psychological traits of a child.
Practical exercise will focus on:
- A repertoire of movement games leading to gradually acquiring sufficient physical fitness to perform individual parkour techniques.
- How to safely handle and manage a sudden fall – methodology of "safety rolls."
- Preparatory physical exercises – movement patterns – bearing physiologically positive movement habits to individual parkour techniques.
- Preparatory jumping and landing exercises aimed at mastering the technique of jumping from one obstacle to another.
- Techniques for overcoming lower and higher obstacles and their modifications.
- Basic techniques for overcoming obstacles using rotational movements.
- Linking individual parkour techniques and subsequently creating “flow.”
- Applicants will be able to use the basics of parkour as a means to motivate children for outdoor physical activities.
What the course will bring you:
- You will expand your horizons beyond general gymnastics "Being IN = Parkour"
- New modern sports trends in physical activity
- You will learn to better motivate children to exercise gymnastics
- You will learn to behave in an environment with obstacles - can be useful in civilian life
